Lemons
October - September
Lemons are the perfect pop of citrus to your favorite dish. They are an excellent source of vitamin C and are treasured around the world. When selecting lemons look for ones with bright, yellow color with firm, thin skin. Available year-round.
Navel Oranges
October - Mid April
Navel oranges are known for a thicker skin, easy to peel, seedless and excellent flavor. Navel oranges got their name from the “belly button” formation opposite the stem end. Although navel oranges are full of juice and can be squeezed, they are mostly consumed out of hand.
ORO BLANCOS
December - February
ORO BLANCO is a cross between an acidless pummelo and a white grapefruit and is named for the legendary Spanish "white gold.” It’s distinctive, bright green early season peel gradually turns to yellow through the season, but the golden fruit segments are just as sweet and tasty in the green stage as they are later in the season. Oro Blanco has a unique, sweet-tart flavor, without the bitterness often associated with grapefruit.
PUMMELOS
December - February
Pummelos come in a wide variety of sizes and colors. They are covered with a think, easy-to-peel rind with a pink flesh. Pummelos are sweet, slightly juicy and have a distinct tropical aroma
MELO GOLDS
November - January
Melo Golds are a cross between a Pummelo and a white grapefruit. They are extremely large with yellowish green skin and sweet-tart flavor. Melo golds are a delicious fruit that can be enjoyed on its own or added to salads.
I’m Pink® CARA CARA
December - April
This navel variety was first discovered in 1976 in the tropics of South America. Its bright orange exterior is similar to other navels but inside the flesh is reddish-pink with an uncommonly sweet and low acid flavor. Thanks to its tropical roots it has been described as evoking notes of cherry, rose petal, orange, and blackberry. Available from December - April.
BLOOD ORANGES
January - March
Blood Oranges are a hybrid between the pummelo and the tangerine. They are known for their deep red flesh and rosy blush skin. They have a unique flavor in that they are a perfect mix of sweet, juicy, and tart.
RESERVE NAVELS
January - May
RESERVE NAVEL oranges are allowed to ripen on the tree until the perfect balance of size, texture and sweetness is achieved. Hand-selected and harvested well above the industry standards, this juicy, sweet fruit is the best tasting California orange. Packed for consumers just as for our families.
MINNEOLAS
January - March
Minneola’s are a cross between a tangerine and a grapefruit. They are slightly bell shaped making them easy to identify. Minneola’s are seedless and easy to peel making them the perfect snack on-the go. They have a sweet and tangy flavor and are only around for a short time.
SUMO CITRUS® Mandarins
January - April
Sumo Citrus is widely recognized by consumers worldwide as the “Best Citrus Ever”. Sumo Citrus was originally developed in Japan, where it is known as Dekopon. This seedless mandarin-orange combination is prized for its ultra-sweet, juicy, complex, melt-in-your-mouth flavor and easy-to-peel skin. Its large size and pebbly peel are crowned by a distinctive topknot. Grown in California exclusively by our Suntreat family growers.
Gold Nuggets
March - May
GOLD NUGGET is a medium size mandarin and is named after for gold once found in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada mountains, where the Gold Nugget now grows. Its color is bright orange and it has a bumpy, easy to peel and aromatic skin. It is seedless with a deliciously sweet taste making it the perfect late season fruit,
SUMMER NAVELS
April - June
Summer Navels are refreshingly sweet and juicy! They have a bright orange seedless interior that is revealed after peeling (very easily) their slightly thick skin. They have a pleasantly sweet taste that is enjoyed by many!
Valencias
April - October
Valencia oranges are the most popular orange used for juicing because of their sweet content and plentiful juice. They are known for their extremely thin skin. They are the perfect combination of sweet and tart!
LEE NOVAS
December - January
These mandarins are a cross between Lee and Nova mandarins. Although larger than most mandarins (almost the size of an orange), the fruit is easy to peel, seedless, and very juicy.
ROSY RED VALENCIA
May - July
A unique Valencia orange known for its exterior blush rind, that deepens from an orange-pink to a deeper red color over the harvest season. The internal flesh is juicy with a deep pink color. The size, shape, and taste of the fruit is like an Olinda Valencia.
LIMES
September - October
A small, green, and round citrus fruit. Limes are a rich source of vitamin C, are sour, and are often used to accent the flavors of foods and beverages.
